چکیده

The activated bamboo char (ABC) was available commercially and carbon nanofibers (CNF) were grown on its surface by a CVD method. The resultant composites were characterized by nitrogen method at 77K and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The structure of bamboo-based porous carbon might be tunable by adjusting purposively the growth of CNFs. The CNF/ABC composite would combine the properties both of porous carbon and carbon nanofibers. The promising composites are expected to use as novel absorbent, electrode material and catalyst support.

The Preparation of Bamboo-Structured Carbon Nanotubes with the Controlled Porosity by CVD of Acetylene on Co-Mo/MCM-41

Bamboo-structured carbon nanotubes are grown on Co-Mo/MCM-41 catalyst in the temperature range of 873-973 K by thermal chemical vapor deposition of acetylene. This study shows that the purified carbon nanotubes have open tips and the metals of the catalyst are not encapsulated. Thus, the bamboo-structure seems to grow from the base. Pore size distribution of the product is quite narrow and ...

Hierarchical Phenolic Resin-based Carbons with High Surface Area and Pore Volume Obtained by Soft-templating and Activation

Introduction Advanced applications often require carbons with high surface area and hierarchical porous structures. In response to this demand some efforts have been undertaken to create materials, which effectively combine the properties of both activated carbons (high surface area) and ordered mesoporous carbons (tunable and well-developed porosity). While there are activation methods, which ...

Catalytically Graphitized Electrospun Carbon Nanofibers Adorned with Nickel Nanoparticles for Catalysis Applications

Catalytically graphitized electrospun carbon nanofibers adorned uniformly with fine nickel nanoparticles were successfully prepared. The procedure was based on the electrospinning technique and the use of nickel precursor to create both graphitized nanofibers and nickel nanoparticles under a relatively low-temperature heat treatment. The X-ray diffraction and Raman results clearly proved cataly...

Preparation and Characterization of porous Carbon/Nickel Nanofibers for Supercapacitor

Two polymer solutions of polyacrylonitrile, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, and Ni(CH3COOH)2 in dimethylformamide were electrospun into ternary composite nanofibers, followed by stabilization and carbonization processes to obtain porous carbon/nickel composite nanofibers with diameters of 100-200 nm. The study revealed that carbon/nickel composite nanofibers were successfully prepared, which allowed nic...

A new approach to preparing porous carbons with controllable pore structure and morphology.

A new approach to preparing porous carbons with desirable pore structure and morphology is demonstrated by using an appropriate pair of polycarboxylic acid/anhydride and diamine in the presence of a metal salt without a sacrificial template.
